Shopping Habits

The other day I was trying to decide what I wanted to eat for a snack and I noticed that I have 10 boxes of granola bars in my small little corner of the kitchen cabinets. I've got two different boxes of Quaker Sweet and Salty Crunch bars, two boxes of NutriGrain bars, two boxes of Chewy granola bars, two boxes of Nature Valley crunchy granola bars, a box of Quaker Oatmeal-on-the-Go bars, and a box of Nature Valley yogurt on the bottom granola bars. And none of them only have one bar left in the box.

Now why did I feel that it was necessary to keep buying these bars when I clearly didn't need them? I think the answer there is due to the fact that I had some pretty amazing coupons on certain types of bars, then they were VIC or MVP that week, and three types were all on sale that week. So basically I bought 5 boxes in one trip to the grocery store. Really though, it's hard to not buy things that keep a long time if the planets align and the item is on sale and I have a coupon. For example, those Quaker Sweet and Salty Crunch bars are about $2.70 a box, but they were 2/$4 at Food Lion and I had a coupon to save $1 on one box and another coupon to save $1.50 on one box, so I got two boxes of granola bars for $1.50. Amazing!

I'm such a nerd.
