Sears had all of their appliances on sale for 15% off and the pedestals came free with our model, so that was a nice $400 value (we wouldn't have bought them otherwise, but hey, they were free).
This weekend was pretty uneventful other than our fancy new appliances. We went out for coffee (and chai tea in my case) with one of my friends from high school on Saturday night and we spent most of Sunday at Keegan's house with his family; his sister leaves for school this week, so we wanted to see her before she left.
I'm meeting on Thursday with Monty to go over my presentation, so I guess my goal for myself will now be moved from August 3 (today) to August 5. I hope I will be ready, but he hasn't given me any sort of guidelines, so I'm not sure which info he's really looking for. I guess it's just going to be a really comprehensive slideshow :-)
It also turns out that Keegan owns Catch-22, so I borrowed it and I'm going to start reading it today during my lunch break. I've started taking my break closer to 1 so that way when I get back it's later in the day and I think that gives me a second wind or something. And it splits the day more evenly; instead of working 9-12 then taking a lunch and working 1ish-6ish I can work 9-1 and 2ish-6ish. Somehow in my mind that is better...
I'd like to make Keegan fettuccine alfredo from scratch, so I'm looking for a good recipe. I know it's not very healthy, but we both love it and I want to start cooking more "real" meals. I made an herb chicken casserole on Saturday, but that's about as adventurous as I get. And there's nothing all that difficult about baking rice and soup with chicken.
